16分あまりの大作で、タイプは違うものの、
かつての「Close To The Edge」の現代版とも言うべき作品。
全体の一貫性を保ちつつ、
3～4楽章に分けてもいいくらいの、
起承転結の変化がある。
呪文のような切り出しから始まり、
壮大な展開を見せる。さすがのジョン節だが、
失礼ながら、80才を迎えても、
ここまでのパワーをまだ秘めていたとは
本当に驚かされた。そしてうれしい！！

「tiki-tai, tiki-tay」とは何？
A.
言葉ではなく、音そのものを楽しむもので、
響き、リズム、エネルギーを込めた造語のようです。
「tiki」は、ポリネシア神話などで「精霊」や「守護神」の
ような存在を指すこともあり、
「トロピカルな神聖性・太古のリズム感」を連想させる。
「tai」や「tay」も、海や風などの自然の音を思わせる響きを持っている。
祈りや儀式のようなリズム、あるいは魂の鼓動を
表しているとも言えるでしょう。
母国語ではないので、難しいですね。

「siter」という呼びかけがよく出てくるが、誰を指している？
A.
単純に姉妹ではなく、魂の姉妹とか同志というような意味と思われる。
